Cheap coach travel is now available between London, Paris and Amsterdam from the budget bus operator, Megabus, with fares from as little as £1, including the channel crossing.
As well as linking London with both Paris and Amsterdam, the new Megabus routes will include stops in Boulogne and Brussels in continental Europe, and in Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester and Milton Keynes in England. Connections can easily be booked on other Megabus services from other locations in England - including Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield – as well as from Scotland and Wales. Megabus now has about 60 locations in the United Kingdom.
Megabus is opening a new direct coach service from London to Paris, via Boulogne. The service will actually begin from Birmingham, then go via Coventry and on to London then Boulogne and Paris.
In Paris the service will arrive at the Porte Maillot coach park, next to the Palais de Congres de Paris. This is a good central location, near the Porte Maillot Metro station, which is just two stops from the Arc de Triomphe.
In Boulogne the Megabus will also stop fairly centrally, at the Gare de Maritime, in the Place de la Republique, near the town centre.
The new budget bus service from London to Amsterdam will go via Brussels, allowing for a cheap travel option if you only want to go between London and Brussels. In England the service will start and end in Leicester, with another stop in Milton Keynes between Leicester and London.
In Amsterdam the Megabus service from London will take passengers to the Zeeburg park and ride coach park at Zuiderzeeweg, just outside the Amsterdam city centre. From here there are buses and a tram to take you directly into the city, just ten minutes away.
In Brussels the drop-off point is the Rue du Cardinal Mercier, right next to the central train station in the city centre - another convenient location.
In addition to the new budget routes from London to Paris and to Amsterdam, Megabus has added a route which links Paris and Amsterdam directly. The new Paris-Amsterdam route travels via Brussels, making it possible to plan a very inexpensive trip taking in London, Brussels, Paris and Amsterdam, using cheap coach travel all the way.
Megabus has added ten new coaches to their fleet at a cost of £2.5 million, in order to set up the new European routes. All coaches are equipped with toilets and free wi-fi.
