Beyond London Travel was delighted to be asked to work as an Ambassador for the new free travel sharing app, Pearlshare. We've been producing guides and exploring the versatility of this new app, which is also proving popular with Airbnb owners.
Pearlshare has worked with Airbnb owners to help them produce personalised guides for their guests. It's a great idea. The property owner can recommend the best local cafes, bars, museums or whatever, and compile them together on a Pearlshare guide and then share them with guests using the free app.
Anyone can create a Pearl on Pearlshare. Say you know the perfect pub that you'd like to tell people about. If it isn't already on Pearlshare, you can create an entry for it, showing where it is, giving website and other contact details, and saying a little something about why it's good. Maybe it's the beer, maybe the live music nights, or maybe a scenic setting.
If someone has already rated the place as a Pearl, you can still add your own comment and add it to your own collection of Pearls. You can then put Pearls together to create a Pearlshare Guide. This could be, say, the best pubs in Brighton, the best cafes in Edinburgh or maybe then ten best things to do in your home town. You can keep these private, if you like, but most people will want to share them and let everybody know about them.
If you're going somewhere or planning a trip, you can use Pearlshare to see what local people recommend. It's pretty simple and intuitive to use, and visually very attractive. You can search for Pearls or Guides in particular areas, and zoom the search map in and out very easily. You can search in specific categories, like accommodation, shopping, pubs or, yes, even Pokemon!
